'.com' isn't always the right call, and a country-code domain isn't just for local businesses anymore. How to actually decide between a ccTLD and a gTLD.
Every domain extension falls into one of two broad families: generic top-level domains (gTLDs) like .com, .net, and .app, which aren't tied to any country, and country-code top-level domains (ccTLDs) like .uk, .de, or .io (technically the British Indian Ocean Territory's code, though it's almost entirely used as a generic tech-brand extension today). Choosing between them is less about which is "better" and more about what you're actually signaling.
